Summer 2013 At The Peace Center & Gallery
The Peace Center and Gallery closed for the Summer months at the end of Visions of Peace 2013.
Our first Fall exhibit will open on September 28 and is called Art4Detroit in conjunction with the United Methodist Renaissance District’s Hands4Detroit project. Not only will be there be art that reflects all aspects of the City but a special entertaining event is planned.
Although we are closed, that does not mean that we are idle. In addition to sprucing up the Gallery, the Faith Club Book Club will meet here on alternate Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:00pm. This is a lively group, the sharing of life experiences and insights on the readings are always interesting. For more information, please contact Amanda Gudme at 313-567-3856.
Beginning August 8th and meeting each second Thursday of the month from 10:00am to noon., Non-Violent Communication Skills Training will be meeting at the Peace Center. Group dates are: August 8, Sep. 12, Oct 10, Nov 14, Dec 12, Feb 13 and April 10. Although ideal, attendance at all the meetings is not required. Come when you can. The group will be guided but will set its own agenda deciding whether to read, listen to CD’s on non-violent communication or find other means to hone our skills in bringing about more peace in the world. If you are interested in participating or wish to know more about these gatherings, either call Pauline Feltner at 313-392-9437 or email her at feltnerjcspmf74@gmail.com.
